| I have so many wonderful memories of my days as a member of CRHS Band, and full credit definitely goes to Dr. Culbert who knew exactly how to communicate and make the experience a most enjoyable one. Personal memories include the 1968 Marching Competition in Clayton, NJ (where we took top prize honors), parades in Pitman, Woodbury, Wenonah, and Mantua (where I lived at the time), Concert and Stage Bands, playing taps at the 1971 Memorial Day Observance, and finally an eight-member brass ensemble at my Baccalaureate a short time later. Thank you, Dr. Culbert, as well as everyone I met in the band during my days at CRHS and best wishes to all future members! | ||
| Glenn Ware | 1967-1971 | Trombone |
| My years with the Clearview Regional HS Marching Unit were very memorable and taught me discipline and an appreciation for the performing arts. Mr. Culbert taught me the fundamentals of reading bass clef on my instrument and preparatory to joining band when I reached 9th grade he coached me throughout my 8th grade year. Other instructors during this time (Mr. Fermanis, Mr. Philbin, and Mr. Newton) also left their mark. We started competition in 1968 and this was the beginning of a long string of successes for the band. After looking at this website I take pride in seeing how far everyone has come and in the fact that I helped to contribute in some small way toward the success of this organization in its formative years. Time has passed and my wife and I are instructing our children in the fundamentals of music appreciation, and what I experienced at Clearview is helping to "pass the torch" to a new generation of music lovers. Congradulations and Best Wishes for the future. Glenn Ware, CRHS Class of 1971 | ||
| Peggy A. Culbert | 1967-1973 | Flute and Piccolo |
| There are too many good things that I could say about my experiences. I don't have time to write about it now, but I can proudly say that my father, Dr. Michael Culbert was the instructor. He is a great man and great musician. We learned so much not only about music, but about getting along with others and life in general. My two younger brothers, Jim and Ed were also in the band, playing trumpet and trombone respectively. Our fellow band-members were THE BEST, too! | ||
| Michael Houghton | 1970-1974 | Trumpet, Squad Leader |
| Marching Band was one of the high points of high school, especially the competitions. Dr. Culbert was a wonderful leader; I'm glad I had the opportunity to study under him. | ||
| Wendy Wilkins Valdez | 1970-1973 | Clarinet |
| Being in band was the best part of my high school years. It was where we hung out in between classes or during study halls - or in lieu of Mr. Froelich's Personal Typing class (which was a perk for the girls in his class). Summer band was fun, too. Not like summer school - we went because we wanted to. Met great people in band - many of whom are still friends. Can't beat unity like that - we all got along - we were all in it together. Mr. (now Dr.) Culbert led with style and class. How could we not remember all of that??? | ||
| Ken Gormley | 1975-1980 | Trombone and Caios |
| Not that I knew it then, but the Music program at Clearview set the stage for what I do now. Anyone that knew me then, knew I goofed off alot. But what I learned was leadership, professionalism, and a good sense of what good music should be. I still play T-Bone from time to time, but I spend alot of time playing bass guitar. Come say Hi at Gloucester County Community Church. If you know the church, then you know that the Christian Music there really kicks. As far as leadership and professionalism, well it began with the Marching Unit and it directly affects what I do for a living. I've been a Police Officer since 1985. You can't tell me that a Band-O doesn't learn anything. We are all proof of a great education. Thank-You DOC and NEWT and anyone that sat with me on the stage and field. I do miss it. | ||

| Marc Celia | 1982-1987 | Percussion |
| Keith Zane | 1984-1988 | Tuba, Band President |
| If it were not for Marching Band I am not sure what I would have done in High School. It was what made High School so memorable along with the friendships that I made, it crossed the classes and we were all one big family year after year. Cavalcades were a blast especailly Championships, greetings to all out there, that were and are part of the Marching Band. | ||
| Jennifer Drechen Spence | 1985-1989 | Clarinet |
| James Drechen | 1989-1993 | Saxophone |
| One of the memories that stand out happened during my senior year. Marching on ice and snow. Nothing like putting a band on a snow and ice covered field up at Scranton, two weeks after the entire bass-drum line had a pile up at the end of a show. It was fun times and made high school fly by. Wait a minute, Tom is now the band director............ | ||

| Katie Boyko | 2000-2004 | Clarinet, Band President, John Philip Sousa Award |
| I loved marching band!! Most of the best times of my High School career were in Marching band. You don't want to miss out on these experiences. | ||
| Benjamin Hedenberg | 2000-2005 | Baritone, Percussion |
| Good times in marching band... definitely going to miss McNulty's craziness. Rememember that time Kenny and I followed him home going 90 on 55? I sure do. | ||
| Nicholas Landrum | 2000 & 2002-2005 | Trombone, Bass Trombone, Tuba, Band President |
| It was extremely tiresome, but I will miss it. Best brass ACC's! only tuba player then. Having random chicks hit on me at band comps. Taking CT. Trying to yell at people. | ||
| Becky Schad | 2000-2005 | Color Guard - 2 years and band - 3 years |
| David Spaeth | 2000-2001 | Trumpet |
| Some of my best memories are from marching band; anyone in band should consider joining. I was only in for two seasons, but the memories will last a life time. I can still smell the spray paint we would use to mark our spots, hear Mr. Tomlin screaming at us, and feel the sound of the bass drums and quads when I think back to marching band. Keep up the great work guys. | ||
| Eric Barbye | 2001-2005 | Trumpet, Baritone, Tuba |
| WOW so many memories. From my freshman year when I stood on the sideline for the first song and played during the second one, because I moved to New Jersey later in the season. I was fortunate enough to experience Mr. Tomlin's last year as marching band instructor. I continued on through my sophomore year, with Mr. Maioriello who swore I was retarded. I promise I'm not. I helped lead the brass section to BEST BRASS ACC's '02 baby!!!!!!!! Then I played Baritone my junior year, and had loads of fun with all the directors and band members. I think that was the year we had to practice in the Methodist Church parking lot, because Clearview was UNDER CONSTRUCTION!!! AHH!!! I traveled with the directors to the DCI Championships in Allentown that year. My senior year ROCKED. I nailed the audition into Wind Ensemble on tuba, an instrument I never touched before, and so I decided to play tuba in marching band with a certain Nich Landrum. We basically supported the entire band. The band would have fallen apart without a killer bass line of myself and Mr. Landrum. All four years of marching band were a BLAST. From Appalachian Spring, to Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue, to Symphony for Brass and Percussion/Stonehenge, to Inchon, they were all amazing years. Anyone who is even slightly debating whether or not to join, let me help you. JOIN! You will think it's so much hard work, but it pays off in the end. You will forge lasting friendships, and become addicted to marching band. Too bad it doesn't last all year round. | ||
| Christina Henry | 2001-2004 | Color Guard |
| I joined the marching band during my sophmore year. I didn't realize how much fun I was going to have otherwise I would have done so earlier. It was a great experience for me and I enjoyed it greatly. I never knew how much work and dedication it was and it taught me how to become a hard working person as well as how to work as a group. I have tons of memories that I will always cherish and remember. I still go and watch the band on days that I am able to. | ||
| Jess Lourie | 2002-2005 | Pit, Clarinet |
| Wow, wonderful experience. Do it, it's worth it. | ||
| Erika Schnatz | 2002-2005 | Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, T-Shirt Design |
| What a great time I had in marching band! The first couple practices freshman year were kind of intimidating, but after you get to know some fellow bandmates, it is a truly fantastic time. So many inside jokes and friends resulted from the long practices and crazy competitions. I may have lost a few brain cells from the gock block, but it was worth it. I'd encourage anyone interested in the marching band to join. It's hard work sometimes, but the fun you'll have totally makes up for it! | ||
| Socrates James Racca Angud "Angid" | 2003-2005 | Trumpet, Snare Drum |
| Probably the most memorable times came from marching band, I'll remember mcnulty.. and "crack" and all the messing around during breaks... The pile, stealing stuff, knocking down the "twin towers"..weise, spraying cologne on instructors cars, filling eric barbye's tuba with water and not confessing i did it, getting everyone in trouble and making them run laps, rude and vulgar count offs omg, putting ghosts on maioriello's porch, band camp and drumming with the guys. me and bobby always being rite and torpey and weise always being wrong, but i love those guys to death, intentionally speeding up the show to finish practice, indiana jones..more like pat's gay. mr. jameson, very awesome guy, i liked his hat during the hot summer days, bill schoch and his voice squeaking, haha paul ate it during practice, and his drums fell off during a show, off road drumline, me, bobby, and weise crossing a river just to practice and have torpey wonderin where we are. maioriello screaming in a golf cart to get our attention. the powedered donut in weise's pants. haha and the guard girl eating it. middle twp.. "we're taking connecticut!! yaa!!!" and mcnulty's hotel room, sitting under the hand dryer at ACC's, counterstrike in the bus to scranton, locking the keys in my truck, and weise had to use a ghetto hanger to fish my key out, burnouts in the parking lot, shoving 5 kids in the bed of my truck and goin to my house and have 4 others inside the cab, only 2 can fit haha, mr jameson-"Why are you eating?? ur not supposed to!!" football games, jaren almost decapitating himself diving into a guardrail trying to catch a ball, deuce bigalo jam section, jungle fever bass cadence, food poisoning from absegami, weise farting every 5 min., sarah.. haha.., unwanted visuals during snare split..., marching in rain.. sinking in mud, in complete darkness. middle beeches, going for retreat to get awards, that was fun. parking lot drumline rehearsal at shows, where like all the schools come to watch you cause u know ur line's awesome. tim - "I go no mahney..." We wan de mahney... drum case surfing in the hallway, wearing different colored socks during shows, forgetting ur sticks when u need em haha, hand warmers, forgetting ur music during practice. distance spitting, kung fu with our sticks, I found the black Socks!!!! Thats all i remember from my senior season. This is just all the fun and crazy memories, but marching band is all bout fun, hard work and crazy music is part of it, but just have fun, if you don't do marching band, ur nuts cause its the best school activity you can do, seriously, if ur in 8th grade goin to 9th, do marching band, u'll know what im talking about... peace. | ||
| Chris LaRoche | 2003-2005 | Baritone Saxophone |
| Marching Band was a great experience. I made many new friends and had many fun times. Sometimes practice sucks, but going to the competitons and doing good make it worth the effort. I was only in the band for 2 years, but I wish I joined sooner, so I encourage anyone who is interested to join as soon as you can, don't miss out on such a good experience. | ||
| Brad Malloy | 2003-2005 | Trumpet |
| Although I was a latecomer, joining in junior year, I still had a lot of fun, made a lot of friends that I would not have otherwise, and some great memories. Scranton is one of the coldest and best memories I have, and I will remember it always. | ||
| James Babu | 2003-2005 | Tenor Saxophone |
| I have one word to say how I feel about my two years in marching band, "awesome". I'm so happy that I joined, but it sucks that I joined late. When I first started, it was so hard for me to actually march and play at the same time. But it in the end, I become known as "Best Marcher" for my rookie year, that was awesome. Marching band was filled with its highs and lows. The highs were definitely all the competitions including our cold experiences at Scranton. The lows, every practice. Every practice was so hard. Maioriello saying "Ok. Run through. Ok?" and McNulte drinking his Wawa iced tea, correction "diet" Wawa iced tea, when we're just about to die of thirst, and Mr. Jameson giving us a break just when we're about to die (thanks). The times that we marched in the mud, in pitch darkness with only the lights of people's cars lighting the field. Well in the end it was all worth it, except for the muddy shoes and dirty pants I have left. I made new friends and gained new memories that would last a lifetime. If you're in band, make sure that you join marching band, but make sure you can revolve your life around it. You'll make good friends and have great times. In the end it'll all be worth it. | ||
| Lauren Moyer | 2003-2006 | Melophone and Drum Major |
| Band was the best thing I did in high school. From just being a total goofball with my friends, to be completly serious on the field. every minute of it was amazing. I loved it. And even though I was only in the band my fresh-sr years I helped out with it for 4 years before that. and now that I'm no longer in it I miss it horribly. It honestly was amazing! To the band of the 05/06 year ( my sr year ) thank you for making my sr year amazing if you made me cry right before we went on for chapters! I miss you all so much! but break a leg this year I know you will be amazing! | ||
| Ashlee Wynne | 2003-2006 | Timpani, 3rd Bass Drum, Tenors |
| Marching band was fun...well worth the ridiculous practices. Nothing beats the Middle Township competition. Memories: MR. SEXY, Elliot?, "This is what dreams are made of", THE TRAILER (middle twp), dropping the marimba, hitting the sign with the carts, Ben's potty mouth, soiled pants, purple township, VG, hoagie pops, tenor posse, hating Hines, chicken limbo, hitting Chris M. with the flag, hitting Chris W. with the chime mallet, NEEDS MORE COWBELL, all of Kara's awesome pep talks, going out for awards, mega-drumline, "The Wave Piobrave", Matt breaking it down, Anthony's bladder control issues, Vinny being creepy, writing obscenities in the mud during practice, Dan smells like Poohbear's poo, gray yogurt, making sponge animals on the bus, passing out at my very first football game, my drums breaking at the first 2006 football game, Cumberland's '06 show, Raisin-Face PUMPKIN HEAD, creepy trumpet girl, spread-eagle, pit party in the ensemble room, throwing up on the first day of band camp '04, solos, SIZZLE! Best air-gram ever by Ron Lange: Don't let your oysters be cracked by Ronald McDonald while the muffin man eats from your spaghetti bowl Special thanks to: Drumline '05 and '06, the pit, Jason, Jim, Snyder, Maioriello and McNulty | ||
| Bridget Brown | 2003-2006 | Color Guard |
